Olkaria VI Geothermal Power Plant (280 MW)

Project Description

Expansion of the Olkaria geothermal complex in Naivasha, Nakuru County, adding 280 MW of installed capacity through two 140 MW units. The project involves drilling additional production and reinjection wells, constructing a new steam field, and building a condensing turbine power plant. Olkaria is Africa's largest geothermal field, and this expansion strengthens Kenya's position as a global geothermal leader. The project includes a 400 kV substation and transmission line to the national grid. Power purchase agreements with Kenya Power are in place.
