8NDP: Sustainable Environment and Natural Resources Management

Project Description

Development Outcome 2 under Strategic Area 3 (Environmental Sustainability) of the 8NDP. This outcome aims to ensure sustainable management of Zambia's environment and natural resources, including forests, wildlife, water resources, minerals, and land. Key strategies include strengthening environmental governance and regulation, promoting sustainable mining practices, combating deforestation and land degradation, protecting biodiversity and national parks, improving waste management, promoting circular economy approaches, strengthening environmental impact assessment processes, and enhancing community-based natural resource management. The goal is to balance economic exploitation of natural resources with environmental conservation for long-term sustainability.
