8NDP: Enhanced Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change

Project Description

Development Outcome 1 under Strategic Area 3 (Environmental Sustainability) of the 8NDP. This outcome focuses on enhancing Zambia's capacity to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Key strategies include promoting renewable energy development, improving energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening climate change adaptation measures in agriculture, water, and infrastructure, enhancing early warning systems, promoting climate-smart agriculture, expanding afforestation and reforestation, and accessing climate finance. The goal is to build a climate-resilient economy and contribute to global climate change mitigation efforts while protecting vulnerable communities from climate impacts.
