8NDP: Improved Health, Food and Nutrition

Project Description

Development Outcome 2 under Strategic Area 2 (Human and Social Development) of the 8NDP. This outcome aims to improve health, food security, and nutrition outcomes for all Zambians. Key strategies include strengthening primary healthcare, expanding access to quality health services, improving maternal and child health, combating communicable and non-communicable diseases, enhancing food security through agricultural production and distribution, improving nutrition especially for children and vulnerable groups, and strengthening health systems including workforce, infrastructure, and supply chains. The goal is to achieve universal health coverage and eliminate malnutrition.
