8NDP: Industrialised and Diversified Economy

Project Description

Development Outcome 1 under Strategic Area 1 (Economic Transformation and Job Creation) of the 8NDP. This outcome aims to transform Zambia into an industrialised and diversified economy, moving beyond dependence on copper mining. Key focus areas include promoting value addition in agriculture, mining, and other sectors; developing manufacturing capacity; expanding the tourism sector; strengthening the energy and transport infrastructure backbone; leveraging digital technology for economic transformation; and promoting industrial parks and multi-facility economic zones. The strategy seeks to create a resilient economy capable of generating sustainable employment and withstanding external shocks.
